A one-component silicone adhesive is a ready-to-use silicone-based adhesive and sealant. It does not require an additional hardener and cures through exposure to atmospheric moisture.
One-component silicone adhesives are suitable for flexible bonding, sealing, and fastening. They are commonly used in glass construction, metal construction, sanitary applications, kitchen installation, window construction, electrical applications, vehicle manufacturing, and industry.
Depending on the product, silicone adhesives adhere to glass, ceramic, enamel, aluminium, stainless steel, many metals, painted surfaces, plastics, tiles, and certain coated materials. An adhesion test should be carried out in advance on difficult substrates.
Many silicone products can be used for both bonding and sealing. Compared with conventional assembly adhesives, however, silicone adhesives generally place greater emphasis on flexibility, temperature resistance, and sealing performance.
