Super glues
(High-Viscosity)

High-viscosity instant adhesives are specialized cyanoacrylate adhesives characterized by a thick consistency and slower curing compared to conventional instant adhesives. These unique properties make them ideal for a wide range of applications where precise work and stronger adhesive bonds are required.

Information about high-viscosity instant adhesives

High-viscosity instant adhesive is thicker than conventional instant adhesive. As a result, it is less likely to run and can be applied more precisely and with greater control. It is particularly suitable for vertical surfaces, larger bonding gaps, and applications where the adhesive should not spread immediately.

High-viscosity instant adhesive is particularly suitable for materials with uneven, rough, or slightly porous surfaces. It can bridge small gaps more effectively than low-viscosity instant adhesive and is commonly used for wood, rubber, ceramic, plastic, metal, and model-making applications.

High-viscosity instant adhesive generally cures somewhat more slowly than low-viscosity variants. This has the advantage of allowing the workpieces to be aligned briefly before the bond sets. The exact curing time depends on the material, the amount of adhesive, the temperature, and the humidity.

Yes, high-viscosity instant adhesive is significantly better suited to filling small gaps than low-viscosity instant adhesive. Its thick consistency helps it remain in place. For larger gaps or highly uneven surfaces, however, it should be checked whether a specialised gap-filling adhesive would be more suitable.

The adhesive should be applied sparingly and precisely to a clean, dry, and grease-free surface. The parts are then joined and held in place for a short time. Applying too much adhesive can delay curing and reduce bond performance.

High-viscosity instant adhesive is easier to control, is less likely to run, and is better suited to vertical surfaces, porous materials, and small gaps. Low-viscosity instant adhesive, on the other hand, is ideal for very tight, precisely fitting bonding areas, as it can quickly penetrate fine cracks and joints.
