Double-sided cloth adhesive tape is a technical adhesive tape with a strong cloth backing coated with adhesive on both sides. It is used to bond two materials reliably and offers good stability and adaptability thanks to its cloth backing.
Double-sided cloth adhesive tape is suitable for mounting, fixing, installation, and fastening applications. Typical uses include securing carpets, floor coverings, displays, signs, decorative elements, trims, profiles, or components in industry, skilled trades, exhibition stand construction, and interior fitting.
Depending on the product, double-sided cloth adhesive tape adheres to materials such as wood, metal, plastic, glass, ceramic, textiles, rubber, cardboard, painted surfaces, or smooth floor coverings. For reliable adhesion, the surfaces should be clean, dry, and free from dust and grease.
The cloth backing provides high stability, good tear resistance, and flexible adaptation to different surfaces. This makes the tape suitable for lightly textured surfaces and applications requiring a robust, durable bond.
Many double-sided cloth adhesive tapes are designed for strong and permanent bonds. However, their load-bearing capacity depends on the specific tape, surface, application pressure, temperature, moisture, and subsequent stress. For particularly high loads, a suitable mounting or high-performance adhesive tape should be selected.
The bonding surfaces should be thoroughly cleaned and dried before application. The tape is applied to one surface and pressed down firmly. The release liner is then removed, and the second material is positioned accurately and also pressed down firmly. Depending on the product, the tape may take some time to reach its full adhesive strength.
