Double-sided foam adhesive tape
Double-sided foam adhesive tapes are tapes that are coated with an adhesive layer on both sides and have a foam core in the middle. This structure gives them special properties that make them ideal for a wide range of applications. They offer strong adhesion, flexibility, and the ability to compensate for uneven surfaces, making them a popular fastening and mounting material.

Information on foam adhesive tape
Double-sided foam adhesive tape is a technical adhesive tape with a foam backing coated with adhesive on both sides. It is used to bond materials either permanently or temporarily and can compensate for slight unevenness, gaps, or tolerances.
Double-sided foam adhesive tape is suitable for mounting, fastening, sealing, and compensation applications. Typical uses include attaching signs, trims, profiles, mirrors, displays, decorative elements, seals, or components in industry, skilled trades, automotive engineering, and interior construction.
Depending on the product, it adheres to materials such as metal, plastic, glass, wood, ceramic, rubber, painted surfaces, or smooth composite materials. For reliable adhesion, the bonding surfaces should be clean, dry, and free from dust and grease.
The foam backing can compensate for uneven surfaces, distribute stress, and dampen vibrations. This makes the tape particularly suitable for lightly textured surfaces, materials of different thicknesses, and applications requiring a flexible, durable bond.
Many double-sided foam adhesive tapes are designed for permanent and durable bonding. However, the actual load-bearing capacity depends on the type of tape, the surface, application pressure, temperature, moisture, and subsequent stress. For heavy-duty or safety-critical applications, a suitable high-performance foam adhesive tape should be selected.
The surfaces should be thoroughly cleaned and dried before bonding. The tape is applied to one surface and pressed down firmly. The release liner is then removed, and the second material is positioned accurately and also pressed down firmly. Depending on the product, the tape may take some time to reach its full adhesive strength.
